Master-Grade Care
from the Dundee Workshop.

Every formula produced under The Complete Guitar name begins at my workbench in Dundee, Scotland. I’m not a mass commercial shop or a factory rep – I’m a dedicated guitar enthusiast and practitioner driven by a simple obsession: craft-level instrument care that is honest, practical, and safe. Frustrated by commercial polishes loaded with cheap fillers and synthetic additives, I set out to formulate my own small-batch care products to keep my own instruments playing and looking their best. What started as a personal quest has grown into a boutique side project dedicated to helping fellow players achieve peak performance from their instruments.

The foundation of my care methodology is a two-phase ritual: Purify, then Nourish. Phase 1 — Clarity Wash — is a deionised water-based cleanser engineered for finish safety. Synthetic lacquers and delicate nitrocellulose finishes suffer when smothered by commercial polishes full of heavy silicones, which create a synthetic seal that deadens natural resonance. Clarity Wash carries no silicones, no acidic solvents, and no harsh d-limonene. It emulsifies playing grime and haze without disturbing the finish — ideal for players seeking honest guitar care and routine maintenance in Dundee.

Phase 2 — Resonance Balm — addresses the biological reality of tonewood. Fretboard care isn’t a cosmetic gimmick; it’s essential for preventing dry timber, protruding fret ends, and seasonal humidity stress. Unfinished fretboard wood — Rosewood, Ebony, Laurel — is porous. When it dehydrates, playability drops. Rather than relying on acidic lemon-oil derivatives, I formulated Resonance Balm with a balanced lipid profile of GM-free, vegan Jojoba, Sweet Almond, and Coconut oils. The result is deep grain hydration that leaves wood stable, smooth under the fingers, and protected against drying out.

To deliver a seamless experience for local players in Dundee and the surrounding areas, I offer a convenience-first concierge setup service. Rather than managing drop-offs, I arrange to collect your instrument directly from your door, carefully service it at my workbench, and return it to you the next day. Every setup includes a comprehensive bench check: neck relief and truss-rod assessment, fret polishing, string replacement, and nut/saddle lubrication. For local players seeking meticulous, hassle-free guitar maintenance in Dundee, service slots are available by prior appointment.
